FAIL-SAFE CIRCUIT FOR TAP-CHANGINGTRANSFORMER REGULATING SYSTEMABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA transfer switch, for disconnecting a source of energyfrom a tap-changing transformer and connecting it directlyto the load which was energized by the transformer, uponactuation by a fail-safe circuit which has detectedimproper opertation of the tap changer. Upon actuation,a contact block is moved by a spring, damped by a dash-pot, to sequentially engage stationary contacts tosequentially insert an impedance in series with thetransformer and load, then connect the load directlyto the source, and then disconnect the series impedanceconnection between the transformer and the source.
