The solenoid valve has a first armature (21) operating the valve's closure piece (28) and a second armature (22) operating the same closure piece. The two armatures are parallel and each has two air gaps (24,25) changing their widths in opposition as the armature moves. The gaps are in series as regards the magnetic flux from the electromagnet (1-6). Each of the permanent magnets (8) associated with the first armature and the permanent magnet (8) or magnets associated with the second armature lie outside the closed magnetic circuit formed by the two armatures and the electromagnet.
