摘要
An electrically-conducting yarn consists of a conducting core of a few continuous synthetic textile filaments and metallic wires of 0.05-0.2 mm dia. which is covered with a sheath of a curable organic adhesive contg. finely-dispersed metallic particles, where the textile filaments comprise 25-40 wt.%, the metallic wires 40-55 wt.% and the sheath 11-27 wt.%. The core pref. contains two rayon filaments of 1220 dtex and two round copper wires 0.16 mm in dia., twisted together with 300 turns/m. The sheath consists of an acrylic incorporating approx. 40% of copper dust. The composite yarn has a dia. of approx. 0.7 mm and comprises 30.8% rayon, 44.8% copper wire and 24.4% of sheath material. The yarn has excellent strength, extension and flexibility as well as good conducting properties which are not reduced by surface wear or damage, making the yarn partic. suitable for use in hoses or containers for inflammable liquids.
