The steering arrangement is intended for a vehicle having wheels which are steerable either by guide rollers rigidly coupled to these wheels and capable of running along a fixed external guide track, or manually by a steering wheel on a steering column (27) coupled to the steering gear. A centralising unit provides a spring force which tends to return the wheels to their central straight-ahead position. This unit is arranged adjacent to the column and acts via a roller which is carried by a radially inwardly spring-loaded bracket and engages a cam groove in a gear wheel meshing with a pinion on the column.
