The spectacle frame comprises a mounting for each lens enclosing the upper part of the lenses only. The spectacle arm is fixed on the outside and nose pads on the inside. The mountings are held by a centre bar. Each lens has a semi-circular groove around its periphery, this being used to locate circular wires which secure the lenses in place. One section of wire is in the fixed upper mounting and the other section passes underneath the lens and is fixed each side of the same mounting.
