The boot, mainly for use on sail boards, has an inner boot (1) with a rigid shell (13) articulated to it. The shell has a curved part (14) covering the front of the foot where an external force (F) is applied, due to a strap (S). The back of the shell (15) forms a leg guard and this guard, and the curved part are on either side of a plane (XX') passing through the articulation points (12) and parallel to the direction of the external force. The pivoting of the shell towards the back is limited by the rigid back (3) of the boot.
