The extractor is used in the walls or pref. the roof of a building to extract smoke and fumes. It has a pan (1) closed by a shutter (2) with the top edge of the upright (4) of the pan exceeding, or at the same level as, the highest point (11) of the shutter in the open position. The upright completely surrounds the extractor, while the wall (10) borders the hopper opening, extends into the interior of the chamber, and is fixed to one end of the shutter (2).
