Designs for flocked or transfer patterns on extensible fabrics for use in seat covers, etc. are composed of discontinuous, irregular lines having a maximum width of 6 mm, which are never parallel to the direction of the maximum extension (i.e. usually in width), and whose total surface area is not more than one-third of the fabric surface, the remaining two-thirds comprising the spaces between the lines, which serve to preserve the extensibility of the fabric. Such designs do not reduce the extensibility of the fabric and are not unduly distorted by the extension.
