PREPARATION OF O,O-DIALKYL 0-2-QUINOXALINYL PHOSPHOROTHIOATE

PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound useful as an insecticide industrially and advantageously, by reacting 2-hydroxyquinoxaline with an O,O-dialkyl thionophosphoryl halide. CONSTITUTION:2-Hydroxyquinoxaline of formula I is reacted with an O,O-dialkyl thionophosphoryl halide of formula II (X is Cl or Br; R is 1-4C alkyl) in the presence of an inorganic alkali, preferably K2CO3, in an organic solvent containing no hydroxyl group, preferably a carboxylic ester, e.g. methyl formate, to prepare an O,O-dialkyl 0-2-quinoxalinyl phosphorothioate of formula III. Thus, the aimed compound can be obtained in high yield at a low cost in a short time without requiring dangerous raw material nor complicated steps.
