PURPOSE:To melt away the accretions deposited in the rising flue part of a non- ferrous metallurgical furnace without stopping the furnace by blowing solvents contg. ferrosilicon to said accretions. CONSTITUTION:Accretions 5 consisting essentially of oxides of high m.p. contg. much magnetite (Fe3O4) deposit on the inclined wall surface 32 in the rising flue part 31 of a non-ferrous metallurgical furnace by which drawing of gases is decreased and the operating state of the furnace is deteriorated. In order to prevent the same, solvents 8 contg. ferrosilicon and soda ashes or silica sand, etc. are sprayed to the deposits 5 with a spray gun 12. The magnetite in the accretions 5 is reduced to lower m.t. by the ferrosilicon and is melted away at 1,100- 1,200 deg.C flue temp. The accretions are removed easily without stopping the operation of the furnace.
