TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION SWITCHING CIRCUIT OF ULTRASONIC VIBRATOR

PURPOSE:To ensure the transmission of a large output for a wave transmitter/ receiver for long-distance sonar, by inserting a reed relay contact between the coils of a matching transformer which is stored in a water tight holder of the transmitter/receiver and then turning on the transmission only. CONSTITUTION:The transmission voltage is applied to terminals A and B of a wave transmitter/receiver 100, and a part of this transmission signal undergoes the half-wave rectification through a diode 114 and flows to a capacitor 116 and a Zener diode 115. Thus a reed switch 113 is turned on. As a result, the transmission voltage is boosted by a matching transformer 12 to drive an vibrator 11. While in the reception mode, the switch 113 is kept off since the reception voltage is faint. Thus the reception voltage is supplied between the terminals A and B with no step-down. In such way, the transmission of a large output is possible in a state under which the loss of the transmisson voltage can be ignored.
