This device for unfolding solar generators of a satellite has springs fitted between the panels (1, 2) of the solar generator. In order to prevent friction which would otherwise occur between the hinge and the respective spring during unfolding, it is proposed to move the panels (1, 2) apart from one another in each case with the aid of a coil spring (5). The coil spring is mounted at the outer end of the hinge pin, the hinge pin being connected to one panel (1) such that it cannot rotate. The second panel (2) can rotate about the hinge pin, and the other end of the coil spring (5) is connected to the second panel (2) such that it cannot rotate. IMAGE
