PURPOSE:To prevent a clutch from burning, in a device where an output shaft of an engine is connected to a propeller shaft through the friction plate selector clutch and fluid speed changer, by decreasing output of the engine in an interlocking state to switching operation of the clutch. CONSTITUTION:At loaded operation of an engine E, if a directly-coupled clutch DC or speed change clutch VC is operated, a closed circuit, of directly coupled or speed change output terminals d, c - diodes D3, D4 - normally closed sixth relay contact V71 - fourth relay coil R6 - earth, is formed to conduct an electric current in the fourth relay coil R6. Accordingly, the fourth relay contact r61 of normally closed type is opened, and the second relay coil R4 and the second solenoid coil S4 for fuel control are deexcited, while the second relay contact r62 of normal open type is closed, then a one-notch state is automatically realized, and a fuel injection quantity of a fuel injection pump P is decreased, thus output of the engine E is decreased to a minimum level at loaded operation.
