PURPOSE:To measure the contour degree of the spherical surface of the mirror plate accurately by imparting movement along the ideal curved surface to a dial gage attached to an NC macnine, and measuring the error with respect to the spherical surface to be measured. CONSTITUTION:The vovements in three axes (X, Y, and Z) are digitally indicated. As for a mechanical apparatus, the Nc macnine which is driven by NC tape is used. The mirror plate to be measured 1 is set on the center of the same axis of a rotary table 3. The standard type dial gage 4 is fixed to a spindle (the Z axis). At first, the center of the spherical surface of the mirror plate 1 is aligned with the conter of the same axis of the spindle, and said position is made to be the original poit. The movement along the ideal spherical surface is imparted to the spindle, and the scale of the dial gage is read at each measuring point. The error with respect to the ideal spherical surface is obtained from this value.
