PURPOSE:To easily set a program of a computer in no relation to the tilt ange of a cutting direction, by aligning a radius change amount to a rotary amount in speed change ratio of a speed changer and providing the speed changer between a feed motor and feed screw of a grinding wheel head. CONSTITUTION:A speed changer 32 is interposed between a feed screw 30 and feed motor 28. Z1 and Z2 are assumed respectively for a number of teeth of a driving gear 33 and that of a transmission gear 34. Assuming X for a radius change amount of a work 13, theta for a tilt angle in the cutting direction of a grinding wheel 16 for a rotary center line 14 of the work 13, L for a lead of the feed screw 30 and beta for a unit rotary angle of the motor 28, and X=L.sintheta. (beta/360). (Z1/Z2) is determined. Setting to sintheta=Z2/Z1, in no relation to a value of angle theta, can set a radius change amount X of the work 13 unconditionally for the unit rotary angle beta of the feed motor 28.
