The collector can store solar energy or light energy from outside the building as well as energy produced by internally heating the building. It redistributes the energy through the building without using hot water or hot air distribution circuits. The collector has a series of glass housings mounted in a battery which may define part of the building e.g. the walls. The housings may be double or triple glazed and define an internal chamber filled with static water.
