TITLE: SELF-ADVANCING TEACHING DEVICEABSTRACTA time teaching device which gives anumerical readout to teach a child the position ofclock hands and is capable of advancing the clockhands every time the child activates the readoutportion has a housing in which is located a clockface and typical hour and minute clock hands. Withinthe housing are two carrier members which have aplurality of indicia thereon which indicate numericallythe position of the clock's hands. The carriermembers are located in the housing beneath displayopenings. Interspaced between the display openingsand the carriers is an interference member whichnormally interferes with viewing of the indicia onthe carrier. Both the hands and the carriers arecoordinated such that movement of the minute handwill move the hour hand and both of the carriersthrough appropriate increments. An operator memberis located on the housing and when it is depressedinto the housing the indicia corresponding to thepositions of the hands is viewable. Upon releaseof the operator member the interference memberinterferes with viewing of the indicia while simul-taneously the hands advance an increment of timeand concurrently unseen to the child the indiciacarriers move to advance the indicia to correspondto the new positions of the hands.
