The process comprises a modification of that described and claimed in the parent Specification wherein the reaction product which is being maintained at 125-200‹ C. is stripped with an inert stripping vapour or gas. Specified vapours are those of cyclohexane, cyclo-octane and npentanes and specified gases are N, He, Ar and CO 2 . In examples the oxidation of cyclohexane to cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone is described.
