The invention relates to a construction site cross-over for motor vehicles for the purpose of preventing traffic diversions onto the opposite carriageway and for preventing the resulting traffic obstacles and accident risks. To this end, the traffic on the construction site side is diverted over the work area on the stretch to be improved via a support structure which has one or more lanes and is provided with ramps and a fly-over. The support structure is also used for receiving the technical facilities necessary for execution of the construction work, the degree of automatisation thereof essentially determining the level of the fly-over and the size of the installation. In each phase of the operation, the installation following the progress of the works continously or intermittently can be travelled on, even in the event of high traffic density, swiftly and without tailbacks. In addition to an installation consisting of uniform mobile, compatible but functionally independent sub-components, the support structure of the construction site cross-over can also be designed as a partially flexible frame structure with interchangeable or fixed work platforms and machine platforms. For transportation, the installation can be compressed depending on the structure.
