Braking system for ribbons from a band slitter - restrains each separate ribbon between slant-ribbed polythene faces

The cut ribbons are squeezed between a pair of brake surfaces, one of which is elastically mounted. Each ribbon is braked separately by ribbed surfaces that do not reach to the edges of the ribbon, the sideways spacing of the several brakes is maintained by distance pieces that are at some distance behind the brake surfaces. The brake surfaces are pref. of polyethylene and their ribs pref. rub obliquely to the braked ribbons.
