Protective device comprises a barrier surrounding the head or upper emergent part of the structure and presenting the configuration of a wheel with spokes. The barrier is formed by the rim of the wheel. The head of the structure forms the hub and the spokes connect the rim to the head. The protective device has a capacity for absorbing energy considerably greater than that of existing equipment comprising a screen which is mounted on elastic support pillars and which are large increasing the risk of collision and which are of great wt. In addn. the device occupies less space and is of less wt.
