The lock comprises a sleeve which slides over the frame arm (F, C) of the sunglasses. The sleeve bore has a plastics liner (3) on one side which is pressed onto the frame arm by tightning a screw (2). This screw is preferably a grub screw which is recessed (1c) into the sleeve and can only be turned by using a special tool. The recess can also be covered by a seal (4). In use, the end of the sleeve butts agains the lens (0) to hold the frame arm in the open position.
