The machine is used to strip flat electric cables and has a cable guiding device mounted on a base. A fixed and a vertically mobile guide are loaded by a pressure spring. A device is provided to clamp the cable onto the fixed guide comprising a hammer actuated by a hydraulic cylinder. The cable sheath is cut by a unit mounted so it is mobile in translation on the base and provided with a fixed internal cutter and an upper cutter which is displaced by a hydraulic cylinder. An adjustable end stop is provided, and a hydraulic cylinder displaces the cutter assembly.
