The tool comprises a screw-jack and is used both to compress a coil spring and to facilitate its installation. It comprises an axle rod (1) with left and right hand screw threads on its respective ends (1a,1b), being fitted with a ring with blind holes (2) for engagement by a tool eng. a tommy bar at an intermediate point. A sleeve (3a,3b) with the corresponding internal screw thread is mounted on each end, being furnished with the brackets (4a,4b) for holding the ends of the subject spring in position. The curved brackets have internally projecting lugs (5,6).
