The constructional component is formed by casting concrete (4) into a steel former (1). Reinforcing steel (3) is also incorporated. Before the concrete has cured a second sheet steel cover (3) is placed over the opening. The steel enclosures are perforated from the outside during manufacture. These thus provide a key for the concrete and ensure a good liaison between the two components.
