PURPOSE:To prepare the titled elastomer having low dynamic heat generation, excellent dimensional stability, and low thermal deterioration tendency, by reacting a specific urethane prepolymer having terminal NCO group with a specific polyol in a manner to give a specific crosslink density. CONSTITUTION:The objective elastomer is prepared by reacting (A) a urethane prepolymer having terminal NCO group and obtained by reacting (a) W1pts.wt. of a polyol having a molecular weight (MW1) of =500 and an (average) OH number (F1) of =2 (e.g. polytetramethylene glycol) with (b) W2pts.wt. of an organic polyisocyanate having an (average) NCO number (F2) of =2 and a molecular weight of MW2 (e.g. tolylene diisocyanate) with (B) W3pts.wt. of a polyol having a moleculr weight (MW3) of =5,000 and an (average) OH number (F3) of =2.2 (e.g. polyoxypropylenetriol). The reaction conditions are selected to give the elastomer having a crosslink density (CD) of =0.085 as defined by the formula.
