SCANNING SYSTEM DRIVING DEVICE OF COPYING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To stop immediately the drive of a scanning system when a fault occurs, and to allow the stop even in a both-side driving system in case of the fault of only a one-side wire and prevent a breakdown by providing a stop control means for a scanning system driving motor on the basis of a detection signal for the tension abnormality of a driving wire. CONSTITUTION:The mirror of the exposure scanning system of a copying machine is fitted to supporters 1 and 2 and driven on both-side basis by a wire 3. The supporters 1 and 2 move as shown by an arrow A by the forward rotation of a motor M and move in the opposite direction by the backward rotation. An end part of the wire 3 engages a tension lever 9 and is energized counterclockwise by a spring, and a magnet Mg1 is provided in an opening. A reed switch SW1 is provided closely to the magnet Mg1, and if the wire is broken or tensed loosely, the lever 9 rotates counterclockwise by spring force to operate the switch SW1 by the magnetic field of the magnet Mg1. The magnet Mg2 of the supporter 1 detects the completion of forward movement of the scanning system even if a control signal becomes abnormal and functions as a safety switch which stops the rotation of the DC motor M forcibly.
