PURPOSE:To perform the simulation of the precipitation state of impurities due to the coagulation speed of steel, by a method wherein urea having sulfur contained therein is melted to be put in a predetermined casting mold and coagulated under cooling to detect the growth direction of a crystal and the segregation of both components. CONSTITUTION:0.5-10wt%, pref., 0.5-3wt% sulfur is contained in urea and the sulfur-containing urea is heated to a min. temp. of 130 deg.C or more, pref., 140- 180 deg.C to be melted. This molten mixture is injected into a predetermined casting mold and coagulated under cooling to perform coagulation simulation of an alloy. Because the melting degree of sulfur in urea is lowered as urea is changed to a solid form a liquid, a sulfur having a m.p. lower than that of urea becomes excessive to be gathered to a non-coagulated part and shows such a behavier that impurities each having a low m.p. are segregated as if in the coagulation of a metal such as steel. Because urea is white and sulfur is yellow, segregation 2, the growth direction 3 of a crystal and shrinkage cavity 4 can be easily observed in the cross-sectional area.
