ROTOR COOLING STRUCTURE FOR LIQUID-COOLING ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE

PURPOSE:To reduce a supply amount of the coolant and to increase the cooling effect by a structure wherein the coolant is supplied up to the central part of a rotor and retained in the interior of the rotor. CONSTITUTION:A coolant supplied from the end part of a rotor body 8 through an axial hole 12 is retained in a hole 13. The coolant retained in the hole 13 is evaporated due to the heat generated from a rotor winding, so that the rotor winding is cooled with the evaporation heat. Further, the coolant passes through radial holes 14a and is then exhausted to an air gap 3 via the axial hole 13 and pipes 16 which are inserted in radial holes 14.
