RUST PREVENTIVE FOR LIGHT-WEIGHT FOAMED CONCRETE REINFORCE WITH STEEL BAR

PURPOSE:The titled rust preventive that is a slurry composition consisting of cement, a specific amount of ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer emulsion and water, thus passivating the steel bars on their surfaces to give stable and fast resistance to rusting and increasing the adhesion to the concrete. CONSTITUTION:(A) Cement, (B) 1-49wt%, (outer percentage based on the cement) of an ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer on the resin basis, (C) when needed, 0.1-2.0wt% of hydroxyethyl-cellulose or its derivative and (D) 25-45wt% of water are mixed to give the objective rust preventive of slurry. For example, steel bars are dipped therein, dried at room temperature or with hot air at about 80 deg.C to cause curing of the coating films for adhesion to the bars. EFFECT:The addition of hydroxyethylcellulose improves the viscosity and shelf life.
