This apparatus comprises a vertical body (102) separated by a horizontal partition into two upper and lower chambers (104,106) communicating through a hole (110). An inlet pipe (118) into the lower chamber comprises a diffuser (122) forming the horizontal and vertical angles respectively with the horizontal axis of the inlet connection. An outlet pipe (120) has a horizontal axis parallel to that of the inlet connection, the two axes being perpendicular to that of the body. The outlet pipe has a vertical leg extending downwardly into the lower chamber (106). The apparatus comprises in its upper part a float device and purge valve of the upper chamber (104)
