Hémoagglutinative a lectin derived from the slug Limax flavus has a high degree of inhibitory specificity of hemagglutination and selectivity to sialic acid or sialoproteins. Methods and compositions for diagnosis and separation are based on the inhibitory effect that sialoproteins or sialic acid have on the properties hémoagglutinatives lectin derived from the slug.
