A disazo dyestuff for cellulose-containing fibre is represented by the formulawherein D is substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, pyridyl, thiazolyl or benzothiazolyl; R¹ is cyano or alkoxycarbonyl; Y is hydrogen, chlorine, methyl or acylamino; R² is substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cyclohexyl, alkenyl or aryl; Z is -NR³R⁴ or -OR⁵ wherein R³, R⁴ and R⁵ are each hydrogen or an alkyl, alkenyl, cyclohexyl, aryl or aralkyl group which may be substituted by cyano, hydroxy, alkoxy or dialkylamino, or NR³ and R⁴ may together form a 5-membered or 6- membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; A isB is oxygen or -NH-; and X is fluorine or chlorine.
