A keyboard for the Chinese character entry system is divided into 3 sectors. The first sector(7) possesses frequently-used characters so that the entry is done by one touch. The second sector(8) possesses indexes of the Chinese characters which are not frequently used. When the corresponding index key is pressed, the relevant Chinese characters are displayed with corresponding code. Thus, the desired characater can be selected by pressing the corresponding code key in the third sector(9).
