PURPOSE:To improve the response property of steep rise or fall, etc. by mounting a cup-shaped rotor independently set up against a yoke and an electromagnetic brake which is attached to an output shaft and brakes revolving drive. CONSTITUTION:The cup-shaped rotor 34 is fixed to a supporting base 32 mounted to the output shaft 30 by means of a fixing screw 36 so as to be inserted into an air gap. The core sections 52, 54 of the electromagnetic brake 50 are supported to a bracket 22 consisting of a nonmagnetic body in order to brake the revolving drive of a driving body 48 containing the supporting base 32 and the cuppy rotor 34 in the output shaft 30, and the electromagnetic brake 50, in which a brake coil 56 for introducing magnetic flux to the core sections 52, 54 is housed and held, is set up to the inner surface of the core section 52. Accordingly, the low inertia variable-speed motor having excellent response property in steep rise or fall can be obtained by a simple structure.
