Formwork for making reinforced concrete slabs which may be transported to a site, has a base carrying two fixed, upright, outer posts (8, 9) with sets of cylinder (18) operated pivot arms (40) attached to moving vertical forming members (14, 15). Centrally between them is a pair of fixed forming members (4, 5). Two pairs of slabs are poured between them by using movable intermediate forming members (19, 20). The whole arrangement includes heaters, and end forming members also carry similar cylinder operated pivot arms so that the slabs can be released. During pouring, a vertical row of hooks (29) on the outer forming members (14, 15) engage eyes (31) on the intermediate members (19, 20), then when the slabs are completed, the hooks are released, the outer members pushed back by the pivot arms, and the slabs can be hoisted up from their position on the intermediate members.
