The exposure opening (2) of the cassette housing (1) of a narrow-gauge film cassette is sealed by a film pressure plate (5) which is pressed resiliently against the rear of the film on the inside of the cassette. The film pressure plate (5) has a recess (9) in which an image pressure plate (10) is arranged. The image pressure plate (10) is connected to the film pressure plate (5) by a spring (11). When the film pressure plate (5) is raised from the rear of the film during insertion of the cassette into a film camera, the image pressure plate (10) remains resiliently seated on the rear of the film and presses the film (3) against the film gate (4) of the camera. As a result, changes in the distance of the film (3) from the film gate (4) and changes caused thereby in the image sharpness are prevented. IMAGE
