A recessed closure for switchgear cabinet doors is described which has an operating shaft which is passed outwards through the door leaf and on which a handle is mounted in the shape of a grip lever which is articulated at its one end on the operating shaft such that it can pivot and, at its other end, has a projection which points in the direction of the door leaf in the closed state and is provided with a holder for a lock such as a cylinder lock, while a plate-like fixture is provided on the door leaf, which fixture has a depression which holds the projection in a fitting manner, in order to hold the projection such that it can be closed. In order that the cylinder lock does not have to be unlocked in a laborious manner using a key in order to insert the gripping lever projection into the door-leaf fixture depression in a blocking manner, the cylinder lock is provided with a cam having a contact and a freewheeling device, so that the cam can be pressed into the open position during the closing process, but spring back into the closed position at the limit position without the closing cylinder shaft blocked by the withdrawn key preventing this.
