Device for introducing stiffening counters into shoe uppers

The introduction of stiffening counters coated with adhesive into the heel region of shoe uppers between their outer shaft and lining has so far been work which could only be carried out manually and which on the one hand is dirty because of the adhesive and on the other hand requires great accuracy in the assignment of the individual parts to one another. To supersede these inadequate manual possibilities, the invention proposes a device, in which firstly the shoe upper is adjusted by means of holding elements, then, by means of two pressure pieces arranged in a mirror-inverted manner, both sides of the shoe upper are pressed inwards, there the lining is held with pins of a gripping element and then pulled downwards, and lastly the outer shaft of the shoe upper is guided outwards again with drivers assigned to the pressure pieces and then the adhesive-coated stiffening counter is introduced by means of grippers into the space made between outer shaft and lining of the shoe upper, into the heel region of the latter. After the lining has returned into its starting position on the inside of the outer shaft, the further treatment of the shoe upper can take place in conventional manner. IMAGE
