The drive system according to the invention is distinguished in particular by the fact that a fixed (hauling) rope or the like, guided by holders, at both ends of the lift "track" (e.g. balustrade, handrail bar), is held by tension devices and is wound once or several times around the driving wheel of the drive group, which driving wheel is provided with an appropriate keyway and which thus, moving up and down on the rope, drives the lift device during the "travel". By means of a second rope which is arranged parallel to the (hauling) rope and is likewise wound around a rope wheel secured to the same drive shaft, all possible pitching and pendulum movements are eliminated and thus uniform sliding of the lift device is guaranteed. This simplified drive method opens up new ways of making the hitherto conventional, unwieldy lift systems of elaborate design (including curve-going lift systems) less complicated. As known, the procurement and installation of such lift systems involves high costs and are therefore only within the means of charitable establishments or a specific category of persons. Here, there is a need for inexpensive lightweight lift systems, especially for internal household use, as an auxiliary device for transporting small loads up and down, such as sick or handicapped children as well as shopping packs and many other things, in particular for the socially deprived category of persons and old people who are reluctantly sent off too early into a home.
