The concrete slab is supported on horizontal longitudinal ground beams in plain or reinforced concrete and the beams have notches in their top surface at regularly spaced intervals. Steel wire ropes are placed in the notches and are pulled tight to form a removable support for the wooden slab shutters. The bottom of the shutter is completed by thin light sheets of iron nailed to the ground beams so that no concrete escapes. The assembly is strong enough to support wet vibrated concrete, and after setting, the wire support ropes and wooden shutters are withdrawn for re-use.
