The machine automatically removes or positions supporting arches for a tunnel cloche. Mounted on a chassis (1a) with supporting wheels and hitched to the front or rear of a farm tractor, are grips (4-16) adjustable to suit the height of each arch above the ground. After engagement with each arch, the grip drive conveyor transports it upwards and rearwards to a storage unit, with a force sufficient to tear it free of the ground as the machine travels forward.
