The device has a support plate (1) with two arms (2) between which are mounted two parallel shafts (3,4). One shaft (3) supports several drums with numbers around their periphery while a toothed wheel (10) is rotated on the second shaft (4). The first drum is rotated from an input cable (11) through a reduction gear. The other drums have fingers (12) on their side faces which are driven by teeth to provide a ten times reduction from one drum to the next. The drive cable also drives a speed indicator (13). A support (20) fixed to the plate comprises a base (21) and two arms (22) between which a shaft (23) is mounted. The shaft has a control knob at the free end and has an indicator wheel (25) rotated from the drums through a toothed wheel. This indicator appears in a window (16) to indicate fuel usage.
