The shoe-cleaning machine is mounted on a shoe storage cupboard. An electric motor is mounted in a tilting cradle and has a keyed output shaft to accept a hub onto which various brushes or pulleys clip when pushed over the hub. An idler wheel is mounted at a short distance from the motor to carry a belt, if a belt is in use. A fast action tensioning device is used for easy release and fitting of the belt. Various brushes or belts may be used, ranging from brushes for polish application to finishing brushes with a surface suited to polishing. If a flexible drive is used an attachment can be provided to give a rotary brush suited to cleaning walls and floors.
