In a method for labelling objects with labels bearing a stamp imprint which can be read from the front side, the stamp imprint is applied to the rear side of the label using a printing ink and a label material which ensure penetration of the ink to the front side of the label. The labels are stamped in a glue-free area before or after glueing.
