Carbofuran compositions for problem soils

The insecticide carbofuran (2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-7- benzofuranyl methylcarbamate) is combined with an organophosphorus additive of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl,P PR. sup.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl,P PR.sup.3 is C.sub. 1 -C.sub.4 alkylene,PPX is oxygen or sulfur, andP Pn is zero or one,PPfor application to soil where previous applications of carbofuran have resulted in successive decreases in the insecticidal activity of carbofuran. The lost activity of the carbofuran is thereby restored.
