CYLINDER HEAD FOR HORIZONTAL WATER-COOLED ENGINE

PURPOSE:To improve a degree of cooling for a sparking-plug seat, by installing a straightening part which guides cooling water into the sparking-plug seat, in case of horizontal water-cooled engine setting up the sparking-plug seat inside a water jacket which leads the cooling water from an upper part in a vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A combustion chamber 6 for a horizontal water-cooled engine 3 is made up of setting a cylinder head 10 to a cylinder case 5 in which each of upper, middle and lower cylinders is horizontally disposed. A cooling water intake port 12 leading to a water jacket 11 is set up in a left upper angular part of the cylinder head 10, while a cooling water discharge port is set up in a right lower angular part. Inside the water jacket 11, there are provided three sparking plugs corresponding to each cylinder 4, while a straightening plate, which guides the cooling water toward a sparking-plug seat, is installed in three position, that is, at the outlet side of the intake port 12 of the water jacket 11, a side wall of the water jacket 11 corresponding to a boundary between both upper and middle cylinders and another side wall of the water jacket 11 corresponding to a boundary between both middle and lower cylinders.
