DETECTION OF DESCENDING CONDITION OF CHARGE IN BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To enable an adequate operating action for charging of raw material, control of blast from tuyeres, etc. to be taken by detecting the fluctuation in a local gaseous pressure drop value by means of furnace wall pressure gages provided apart at a prescribed distance in a height direction opon lapse of time. CONSTITUTION:Two or more pieces of pressure detecting taps, for example, T1, T2 are provided in the optional position in the height direction of the shell of a blast furnace at the distance approximately equivalent to the thickness of a coke layer (a) or ore layer (b) passing in said position, and the pressure drop DELTAP between both taps is measured. The periodic fluctuation of the value DELTAP is thus detected while the layers (a), (b) pass alternately between the taps T1 and T2. If the fluctuation is subjected to waveform analysis in accordance with the time, the descending speed of the internal charge, the thickness of the layer (a) or (b), the circumferential balance thereof, the forming condition, forming position, etc. of the mixed layers and deposits are detectable.
