CONNECTOR FOR JUNCTION OF MAIN RIVER AND BRANCHED RIVER

PURPOSE:To prevent disaster caused by flood by controlling the flow of river water at the outlet of the conduit for branched rivers in such a way as to direct it in parrallel with the flow of the main river and also to suck it into the flow of the main river at the junction between the main river and the branched river. CONSTITUTION:A dam 4 whose capacity is matched with the flow rate of river water is provided at the branched river 3 on the tank 2 of the main river 1, and a conduit 5 is buried with a skew slope between the bottom of the main river and the dam 4. Also, a fanwise side ditch 7 is provided at the outlet 6 of the conduit in such a way as to direct the flow of river at the outlet in parallel with the flow of the river 1. And, the distance from the connection point 9 of the conduit 5 to the outlet 6 of the conduit is made short as much as possible and also the outlet 6 is provided in a place where the flow of water of the main river 1 is fast during the flood. In addition, the outlet 6 is so designed that it is exposed to the air during the normal condition but is immersed under water only during the flood. Thus, because strong water flow is produced in the branched river 3 during the flood, the water flow of the branched river 3 can be released into the main river 1.
