Surgical implants with high tissue compatibility - have surface layer of sintered porous platinum or platinum alloy

A surgical aid for implantation in living tissue, which is compatible with the tissue and not rejected, has at least part of its surface covered with a sintered porous layer of platinum or platinum alloy. Pref. (i) the ave dia. of the pores in the sintered porous layer is 10-100 micrometres, esp. ca. 40 micrometres; (ii) the sintered pororus layer is 50-250 micrometres thick.
